Nice warm, light, simple winter boot
PostedDecember 1, 2017
I was really surprised how light these are!! Tried them out on a few walks in 15 to 20 degree weather and my feet were nice and warm. I'm typically a 8.5 and i got a 9. They are just the right about of roomy.

Keeps feet warm and dry and comfortable

Proswarm!!, practical, good support
I have been shopping for a comfortable, warm snow boot for years and have spent way too many hours researching products, with disappointing results until now.. I bought and returned several pairs until I took a closer look at these Bogs. I tried the Plimsoll snow boot and retuned those (shaft was slightly too snug which distorted the line of the boot when worn) then took a chance on these. The "classic" style is exactly what I needed. This boot may be called "rain" boot but it has tread that surpasses some "snow" boots and keeps my feet very warm in sub-freezing temps and icy weather. The tread on this "rain" boot is exactly the same as the Bogs Plimsoll "snow" boot I tried but returned, btw. I've had so many pairs of snow boots which let my toes freeze and these are my answer to solving that problem, while being comfortable and even affordable. I use the boots for normal winter use and they've been great. I have not used these in deep snow so I cannot speak to how it would work for slogging through very deep snow but they are wonderful for a few inches of snow, slush, freezing rain, and ice for daily activities in the northeast. I have muscular calves at about 14 inches and the shaft is fine, with room to comfortably tuck in jeans or snow pants. I wear a 9-9.5 shoe size and bought these in 10. I wear them with thin wool knee socks and they are very comfortable. I have worn them with no socks and they are also warm and fairly comfortable like that but I prefer using socks as a liner. When I first put them on out of the box they felt snug and I was afraid I'd have to return them but in a very short time (same day) they relaxed and were very comfortable. Also, they did seem a bit bulky at first but, when wearing them, they just feel like any other boot. I do not feel like they are bulky or cumbersome at all. I drive, walk, jog a little, climb stairs - whatever one would do in any other shoe while raising kids, working, taking care of a home and dog, I do comfortably in these. I can't wear flat shoes anymore and these also give me good support. They came earlier than the projected arrival date. No one else carried this exact boot and shopping with Nordsrom online was so easy with good descriptions and pics that helped me make the decision to order.
Love them, so happy with them. Thank you Nordstrom!
