Let me start by saying that I normally do not shop at Nordstrom's. I went on the suggestion of my daughter who is a regular with your store, despite the fact she lives in London. My son is getting married in the spring and so dress shopping for a Mother of the Groom's outfit is on the agenda. My daughter was in for Thanksgiving and encouraged me to do this shopping while she was here to help. It was totally her suggestion that we begin our search at Nordstrom's. So we go to the Oakbrook store and begin to wander about the dress area. I was overwhelmed and feeling despondent within the first ten minutes. In our wandering we walked past the bridal area and a woman was sitting at the desk. I innocently asked if she might point me in the right direction for a Mother of the Groom dress. She (Nancy Wagner# immediately stated that she just had an appointment cancel and she would be willing to lend me a hand as she had the time. Nancy was warm and not intimidating despite the fact that when she asked me what type of dresses I liked I replied that I do not normally wear dresses of any kind!! This did not dissuade her and the three of us began walking around choosing various dresses that caught our eye. She then took me into a dressing room where were discussed foundation wear #this was really something new to me, despite the fact that I could certainly use it) She brought in some foundations and the trying on began. Oh, let me add that I had recently had foot surgery so my left foot was in a boot!! What a scene that must have been, a novice spanx wearer with a boot!! I cannot remember how many dresses I tried on but despite my not wearing dresses I left the store ordering two. Nancy's job didn't end there however. One of the dresses needed to be found in a larger size and she stated that she would do a thorough search and find me it, but it might take a day. She did find me the dress and promptly called Monday stating that it would be in the mail. She also gave me the name of a woman who would help me with foundation wear and encouraged me to make an appointment with her. Later I learned that Fay, the name she gave me, is known by more than one of my neighbors as their go to person in this regard. An afternoon of shopping that I was dreading turned into a wonderful experience. I am very grateful to have been in the hands of Nancy Wagner and under her guidance feel that I have two dresses to choose for the momentous occasion of my son's wedding. I am sure that I will shop at Nordstrom's in the future and am appreciative that these types of sales people are out there for those of us that need it!!
This dress is beautiful but not the look I have in mind. It was a little long in the length - my ideal size would be a 14W - petite if there were such a thing. Someone should jump on the body type that is hard to buy for - petite plus size.
