I would say the "purple cap" option is almost unusable, it is so goopy. Once I discovered the "pink cap" option, I realized I didn't have to send it back. There is something about the 1st part (not exactly sure what to call the goop option) that almost seems defective--way too much mascara comes out on the brush in an uneven glob. I'm not sure I really understood that there was a 2 option gimmick when I was buying it though!
By far my favorite mascara. My mom, sister and I have been purchasing this particular mascara for years now. I am always happy with the product and recommend it whenever people ask about my eyelashes.
