Trench #4 - Test Shades in Person

This shade review is based on my light skin (not fair) with a yellow undertone. I visited the Burberry Beauty counter at the Nordstrom in NJ and the makeup artist tested Trench #4 and #5 on me. Two artists agreed that #4 looked better on me. It appears to have a yellow/golden undertone. All of the shades are surprisingly light therefore I strongly recommend you test the shades in person. The foundation is lightweight and sheer and leaves a luminous (not shiny) and very pretty finish. I definitely recommend it.

Burberry Sheer Luminous Fluid Foundation

This foundation goes on smoothly and leaves your skin looking flawless and smooth. I am fair-skinned and bought the #5 shade. I was worried that it might be too dark but it was perfect. Shades tend to be lighter than they appear so you might want to try the shades out at the store before you buy this foundation. You only need a little of the product to cover flaws and uneven skin tone. It left my skin feeling soft and hydrated and didn't feel heavy on my face.

Proslight, flawless, moisturizing, natural, long wearing
I have now placed my order for my foundation after testing the samples I received. I've learned that #5 and 7 are recommended if you have yellow undertoned skin and are the most popular. It provides me with enough moisture that I don't need a concealer nor a powder. It is not oily or greasy and I like the way I can use the nozzle to apply to my hand for application. Since skin tones tend to darken a bit during the summer months I've opted for #5. I'm excited about adding this new product to my new Burberry collection.

I love this liquid foundation from Burberry! I was looking for something very natural and lightweight as I have not worn foundation since I was a teenager... I recently tried Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer (too dewey) and MAC Studio Moisture Tint but wanted more of a matte finish while still emitting that "glow." Burberry claims to create a hydrated complexion, which is accurate. It's not overly dewey, and on my normal to dry skin it is just perfect. I apply it with a foundation brush and top it off with the Burberry Powder Foundation for a more finished look. This leaves my skin even, "luminous," (which to me means it reflects the light in all the right places and gives me a healthy, youthful glow) and naturally matte.
I am very impressed with this line and look forward to trying *everything* because my experience with the foundation was so great!
By the way I'm a No. 7 which is usually on the lighter to lightest end of most brands, but with Burberry, I am one step away from the darkest shade! This is a bit crazy to me, so ladies be forewarned that this line is tailored to the fairest of skin tones... You can still enjoy the color line and hopefully Burberry will add some darker shades to the line.
