This is my first purchase of Burberry products and I'm very pleased. I bought #32 Sepia Pink and this is a soft, subdued, natural pink. It looks very dark in the tube, but shows a very different shade on my lips. I patted it on carefully directly from the tube because it looked so dark, but after applying, it looked totally different. I love it and will definitely buy this shade again and am anxious now to try other shades. It's a sheer, soft shine which enhances my lips in a pretty, fuller looking way.

Beautiful and Natural BUT...

I saw Pixiwoo on youtube do a wonderful tutorial and I just fell in love with how it looked on her. She is very light skin and when I tried the color it was more like a natural lip color for me whereas for her, it seems very rosy and pink. But I still like it. The only thing is that it does not last. I feel like I reapply like 10 times a day. So annoying.

Deserves the name, true Ruby red. It's similar to the Union Red in hand swatch or in tube, but when you put them on the lips side by side, you can see the difference. Ruby has more depth, while Union Red is more bright (like a loud statement). Love them both!

Application wise, smooth, moisturizing, long lasting (all lipsticks need re-application after eating anyway).

Nude Cashmere/Rosewood for Dark Skinned Women

I currently have a nude by Smashbox that suits my skin tone that I actually like a lot, but was just in the market for something a little new and different for the fall season. I saw the nude that the burberry model had (the black one), and liked it on her. It didn't wash her out, but just kind of enhanced her lips, which is what I was in search for. There isn't a Nordstrom or a burberry counter anywhere close to me so I just ordered to it. Of course finding a nude for most women, especially women of color is a daunting task anyway, and unfortunately this was a strikeout for me. Generally with lipstick, if I dont LOVE it at first application, he goes back to the store. I dont have dark lips, so I didn't expect to be washed out too much, but unfortunately that is exactly what happened. Nude Cashmere makes me looked TOTALLY washed out. I wanted to keep the eye makeup light, with a nice blush and nice nude lip for day time fall weather, but Nude Cashmere totally washed out my face, making me look ill. Back he goes. I also tried the Rosewood, looking for a rosy/brown that would give me a tad bit of color. Again, pink for most women of color is also impossible to find, (though Nars Never say Never Matte Pencil me likey!!). This pink was very soft and not overwhelming. There is rosy scent to it, which didn't bother me, and I am highly sensitive to smells, BUT upon application, the color looks slightly frosty. PASS. I do not like the frosty look. THen again, that may have been because of my dark skin, and the color of my lips...I dont know. When I applied Rosewood, and topped it with the nude I have from SMASHBOX (Chai by the way), it evened out, and made for a nice neutral natural color, but I dont want to have to put on two colors to get a color I like..not for $30 anyway! :o) Back he goes. I wouldnt recommend either for WOC that are dark skinned, but it may work for lighter WOC or other women. Ill definitely be trying some more though!
