I purchased this because a friend and the reviews said that it is the best for holding a curl. I found that it is ok-- better than the others I have tried, but it's not great. I find that my regular curling mascara holds better when used without the base. I will continue to use if I can't find anything better because it is nourishing, but I will also keep looking. I also noticed that you have to apply mascara fairly quickly after applying or it makes the mascara clump

Best mascara base for straight lashes

This is the best base for stick-straight lashes. After using an eyelash curler, Shiseido base will keep them curled. Every other base I've tried makes my lashes droop after all the hard work of curling them. This base keeps them curled and provides a good layer beneath mascara to preserve curl all day.
I’ve been using this stuff for a couple of years now and I can’t live without it! My eyelashes are longer now and it helps keep my mascara from “melting off” (I don’t use waterproof mascara). I always have to buy two at a time because Nordstrom is always sold out!!!
If you have straight lashes, want them to curl and stay up all day, give this product a try. I use an eyelash curler, this base mascara and then apply mascara for a fabulous result. You must add it to your makeup regime!
