Shoes great, issue with the belt.

Very happy with the shoes. The belt is a little too wide for my preferences. It is very difficult to get it through the loops of my dress pants and suit pants. Would be better if it was a 1/4 inch narrower.

In MAR-2014 I bought two pairs of size 10B Bentons (one in Black & one in Chili) with matching belts & shoe polish at your Oak Brook, IL store. The shoes fit great & are extremely comfortable. My last 2 pairs of AEs were Park Avenues in size 9.5B (one each in Black & Merlot) from 2004. My poiatrist recommeded that I switch to size 10B for more toe room. The Bentons are more comfortable than the Park Avenues yet are similarly stylish. I use them for both work & formal occasions and plan to use them for the next decade. I will also use your recrafting option when that time comes. . Glad to see that you are now offering Brown & Walnut colors. If you offer a Burgundy / Merlot color, I will immediately order a pair in size 10B with matching belt & polish. Thanks for offering narrow B widths in a variety of styles & colors. Your Oak Brook staff provided exceptional service. THANKS !!!

This shoe goes on and feels like a slipper. It feels that way all day. The fact is, I would recommend it to a friend -- because none of my friends has feet like mine.
Most people buying shoes with the word "orthopedic" in their names, however, need a lot more support than a slipper gives you when you leave the house! My feet inevitably starting hurting very soon after I put these shoes on because my feet, due to my many sins, need a lot. These did not deliver, and if you have feet that require extra support you will not get it from these.
One more point: I was disappointed by the dull finish of the leather as well, which did not seem amenable to correction no matter how shined or polished. This factor tipped the review to "not recommended."

VIP rubber sole didn't last

I bought the Benton as I wear orthotics and was looking for a nice black shoe that could accommodate them comfortably. I found the Benton was good for size and a comfortable shoe, but after 10-12 uses I found the VIP leather sole began to come apart and split at the toe. It was unfortunately not limited to one shoe and is happening on both. I'm disappointed it did not last up longer and for that reason would not recommend to others. I haven't had this issue with any leather soled AE shoe.
