[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these for my husband. He loves them. I bought them slightly bigger as all the reviews suggested. They are are just a little roomy with no potential for pinching and discomfort. He’s happy as am I. I expected nothing less from Allen Edmonds. Thank you.

I've had quite a few penny loafers over the years. Except for the one my mother bought me when I was 14, this one I must say tops them all. The color the fit the construction and the finish are all very good quality. It will take some time to break it in, but I know I will be wearing these loafers for a very long time. Very comfortable for all-day wear, it looks good on my feet. Responds well to polish and lotion. I added rubber to the sole to create better traction on the carpet. Since the shoe is constructed with such high quality material, I plan to get at least a decade out of these with once-a-week wear. Unless if my feet grow, then I might get another pair. But for now one decade!

I put a 1951 in the left, and a 1973 in the right. Corny? Maybe, but I like 'em like that. After three full days of use, with about a week in between, they're still a bit tight and stiff. I don't think I'd want 'em any looser, though. I reckon they'll be softening up soon and be a bit more comfortable as the miles stack up. They look great with tailored cords, jeans and dress slacks. I've been using socks, but am likely to ditch the hose once they're broken in. I like the various design elements such as the pinking, beefroll and the heftier leather sole. Fair price for the value.

Brutal first wearing but then got better

The first time I wore these shoes they destroyed my feet. Seriously! I had to wear band aids for over a week due to all the blisters I got. But I am not a quitter and I hate returning things although AE makes it easy. The 2nd time was better. Not excellent but better. We'll see about a 3rd. Get a size larger or learn which last these are built upon before ordering.
