Look great and more comfortable than I ever expected.! However have not seen them on sale yet -- when so many other boots are - so overall, on the pricier side for boots.

Couldn't believe it fit right out of the box! My calf size is 16", and the boots pulled on without a problem. The buckles actually do adjust for more wiggle room, and the dark brown color is just perfect -- a bit of natural irregularities in the soft leather makes for a slightly distressed look. This boot style is slouchy at the ankle. Its the first time EVER that a boot fits comfortably over my man calves, and looks cute at the same time. 5'2", 186# with a size 16" calf woman who finally found a boot I love. I have wide feet, and normally wear a size 8.5; I purchased this boot in a 9. With bare feet, the boots were comfortable. I am hoping after several wears and thin socks, that it'll be more comfortable, in case my feet swell. Its my first Frye boot, and judging from all the other reviews, is a quality boot. I wasn't thrilled about the price tag, but after trying the boots on, deem them worth every penny. THANK YOU, FRYE!!!

Beautiful boot, but...

I have a narrow, long foot. And although I was excited to easily slip these on over my calf (maybe about 16 inches wide), the boot seemed almost too wide on top, and my heels were slipping around like crazy. Pulling the straps tight didn't help. Maybe the wide-calf boot is also wider in the footbed? At any rate, I couldn't justify the price for a boot that wouldn't be entirely comfortable. Think I'll re-try the regular Veronica slouch and figure if I can make them work! This is the mid-calf brown boot I'm still hoping for...

Inconsistent quality

I ordered these boots in a size 7, as sometimes 6.5 is too small for me, and when they arrived I was in love!! They were totally gorgeous. But, unfortunately, too big. So I sent them back and ordered a 6.5, which fit, however I was totally disappointed in the quality of the 6.5. First, the leather was nowhere near the quality of the first pair. It was thin, wrinkled, and the color was ugly with long stringy lines of what looked like dye down the side of one of the boots. Additionally, a leather piece on the top of the other boot, near the top buckle, was not cut properly and was hanging over, with the back of the leather showing, and the lining coming out and frizzled. Lastly, the inside of the first boot in the shoe bed did not have the "FRYE" label fully glued down and it kept sticking to my foot! I was pretty surprised at this. It was as if it wasn't even the same brand or style. I sent these back and have not ordered again. I love Frye and love Nordstroms, just too worried about inconsistency in these.
