Unless you are at least 5'7," or wear 6 inch heels, be prepared to have any of these so-called petite gowns altered. Style is very flattering and sophisticated, and the deep indigo blue is "the new black." I always thought that petite was for women 5'4" and under. Had to return, and 'shop my closet.'
I will start with the color (indigo) is really a dark navy. Very rich pretty color,will stand out among the sea of black, not as harsh against the pale winter skin but still dark and slimming. Love that it has sleeves and that its simple and elegant." I like to wear the dress and not have the dress wear me"
Sizing: I am 5'5 150 lbs(size 8 or 10) and order the petite medium in indigo and the regular medium in the black(also offered on the site). They both were true to size but the regular was proportioned much longer. I NEVER wear petite but the length , zipper and waist all fit perfectly.The regular medium was 6 inches to long and the zipper was a couple inches to long. So if your average size and shape I would consider trying the petite.
I was looking for an elegant gown to wear to my son's wedding and this fit the bill perfectly! The simple and classic elegance of the gown can be ramped up with a brooch or jewelry. Fits like a glove but runs a little large. I got the x-small petite and I'm 5'2" and 114 lbs. I will still have to shorten the length just a tad.
