Purchased this dress for my daughter's September wedding. It was perfect, so comfortable and light ! I am a size 2, 5' 3 1/2" , 107 lbs. and the XS fit like a glove, just needed hemming and taken in a little on top.I had cups sewn in the top instead of wearing a strapless bra. I added a rhinestone broach at the hip and wore a rhinestone necklace and earrings to match. I kept the train and had my seamstress add a hook so I could bustle it and dance the night away without worrying about tripping on it. (It was not available in Petite when I purchased it but perhaps it wouldn't have needed hemming if I got this dress in a Petite size). Wanted to avoid looking matronly like so many Mother of the Bride dresses I tried on but also wanted something age appropriate. This amazing dress was affordable yet elegant!

I love this dress. I bought it for the Marine Corps birthday ball this year and was really looking forward to wearing it. It's a very classic, timeless dress but the detailing on the neckline and sleeves give it a modern touch. I first ordered it in a small (I'm 5'7", 140 lbs of mostly muscle but with a curvier tummy), but it was WAY too big. Think 5 or 6 inches of give in the waist big. I exchanged for the x-small, thinking there was no way it would still be too big, but alas, it's still fairly roomy. I'm still debating whether I'll keep it and let it be a little looser or return it for a more form-fitting dress. I don't want to, though, because this dress is really beautiful and very well made.

Underwhelming. Boring. Too conservative.

First: a quick note about sizing. I have several Tadashi dresses and they ALL have stretch to them and run big so you should order a size down (I'm speaking of the ones that are sized: s, m, l, etc. The ones that are 2, 4, 6 may be more true to size. I can't speak to those because I don't believe I have any of those.)
Now, about this dress...the 3/4-ish sleeves are too long, for one. They're an odd length and it's not flattering. I can't explain why it doesn't work but, trust me, it just doesn't (not on me, anyway. And I saw another commenter say the same thing.) I tucked the sleeves in just to make sure I wasn't imagining it, and it looked 10 x's better. (You could always get them tailored I guess if you like the dress otherwise).
BUT...the problem for me was that I didn't like the dress otherwise. It was just kind of ho-hum. Forgettable. Blase'. If you want something classic and conservative and are happy just blending in, this is the dress for you.
That might sound harsh but that's honestly how I felt in it. It just felt bo-ring.
One other thing I just remembered: the top part is too high. They really should've done it at least a little lower cut. I'm large-chested and don't like to flaunt them as to not appear hoochy-mamma, but believe me when I tell you this dress wasn't even remotely close to showing any kind of cleavage. In fact, I felt like a nun or something.
If you're looking for a decent, classic dress that won't go out of style, it could work. But if you want anything that has any kind of umph to it (my opinion, of course), I don't recommend this one.

I wore this lovely gown to opening night at the Metropolitan Opera. Although many of the women in attendance wore gowns that probably cost the GNP of a small nation, none of them could have felt as beautiful and comfortable as I did in my extremely reasonably priced dress. I felt as grand as could be walking up the red carpeted steps to the auditorium. This dress is my introduction to Tadashi Shoji and I'm hoping it won't be my last!
