Very Elegant Dress
PostedJuly 11, 2015
Prossoft, comfortable
This is such a basic dress but really, really flattering. The way it hangs sort of mermaid style gives it so much more style than most dresses. I am 5'3" tall and weigh 116 lbs. The XS fits perfect except I am having it hemmed and, like so many others, reluctantly having the train removed. The fabric is really soft and the dress is amazingly comfortable for a formal wear gown. No spanks needed but I will be wearing some control panty hose. Wouldn't probably wear any hose except I will be wearing it for my son's wedding in December in San Francisco. Hose are more for warmth than shaping. The way the dress drapes definitely does downplay any little bumps or any perceived imperfections. I am 63 and really happy to find a dress that looks so elegant and not frumpy. This dress achieved that goal.

Prosage appropriate, curve enhancing, neutral, comfortable, husband loved it
DO give this dress a try! It is more flattering to an hourglass figure than a, although beautiful, runway model build.
I tried my usual Medium size but was disappointed in how shapeless it appeared so, hopefully, tried on the Small because mesh clothing is "figure forgiving" ... it was perfect. Even in the Small size, I like that the neckline extends farther out on the shoulders than the photo shows and the sleeve length still ends right at the elbow.
If you imagine this dress at an evening function, the details may be lost in the darkness. Because of this, I'll have some matte navy bugle beads sewn on along some seams and folds to catch the light.
Hemming estimate is $50.
Hope you and I don't wear it to the same wedding ;-D !

Amazing Dress

Prosvery flattering
While this dress is not what I will wear to my son's wedding, it is a spectacular dress and one that would be perfect for other occasions. The ruching and gathered fabric are remarkably flattering, and hide minor flaws; I felt very attractive in it. As other reviewers mentioned, the dress looks like nothing out of the box, but on, it is great. The asymmetrical neckline and elbow-length sleeves are terrific features. I am 5/9", and I would need to wear heels or shorten if I wore it with flats.

Perfect MOB dress

I probably tried on 20 dresses for my daughters wedding. This one was finally right. I did have the train taken off when I had it shortened. It runs very long, even with 2 inch heels. (I'm 5 ft. 7 in.) But the neckline adds interest and the ruching is very flattering. And it covers my arms!
