The dress is gorgeous, the ruching makes a less than perfect waist line look better. It is long and difficult to alter. You need a really good seamstress or probably you could have it altered at Nordstrom's (they probably have good ones); unfortunately I ordered mine online and my seamstress did not do a very good job....I wish it came in a petite length

MY BOYFRIENDS DAUGHTER IS GETTING MARRIED IN SEPTEMBER 2011, I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR MONTHS, ORDERING ONLINE AND SENDING BACK. I TOOK THE DRESS OUT AND TRIED IT ON, I THOUGHT IT LOOKED APPROPRIATE, SIMPLE YET ELEGANT, WENT OUT ON THE BACK DECK AND RECEIVED THE "UNBELIEVABLE" COMMENT FROM MY SIGNIFICANT OTHER, IN ADDITION TO IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS CUSTOM MADE FOR YOU. THIS ONE IS A KEEPER!!

This dress is beautiful. I bought it knowing it was not a petite, but I was hoping that I could alter it. However, with the train - I think it would cost too much to hem. At 5 feet tall, I really do need a petite. It's so hard to find petite clothes that aren't too young-looking or too matronly. There is a similar petite version of this dress, but it's sleeveless. I much prefer a dress with sleeves. If the designer would consider making a petite version - I'd be thrilled!

the other reviews were so amazing to have in making my decision about this dress. i have tried on all kinds of dresses and have not gotten such a fit and uniqueness as in this dress. ordering a dress on line was new for me and it was so easy with all the help of the other reviewers. i felt like i could get something that is more unusual and elegant, not the typical mother of the bride dress. the fabric is so soft and the color indigo is just soft and beautiful. the ruching gives me a great waist ,at 55 i love that it makes me feel curvy and slender!!! my husband actually said he loved it, look forward to wearing it to our daughters wedding.
