Great looking shoe - not the best quality
PostedMarch 18, 2017
These shoes look great and they are comfortable; however, I must say that I believe they are made rather poorly. The heel flap on my first pair came off within five wears - even though I used a shoe horn to put them on each time. I have had a second replacement pair for a couple of months, which I have worn no more than 15 times, and the stitching that connects the shoe to the eyelets has come apart on one shoe, while there is ripped leather/a hole in the same spot on the other shoe. For the price, this is is rather upsetting.

Extraordinarily Comfortable

Prosuber comfortable
I own two pairs of these shoes and they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. They are snug all around but nice and roomy for your toes. The leather will stretch over time so they should be snug when you purchase them. If the leather stretches and they become too loose, purchase a good shoe insert and they will feel snug again. I have owned the "woodhouse Lost History" pair for 6 years and I had them re-soled twice. It is important to have them re-soled before the sole wears away, exposing the cork part of the shoe. If you let the soles wear too low, they become very slippery on wet pavement. I just purchased the same pair of shoes in black.
I like these shoes better than the expensive and comparable Doctor Martens and Born shoes I have tried. It is difficult to re-sole Dr. Martens. These shoes are much more comfortable than the Borns.

Expensive, but worth it!

The only reason I considered buying my husband a $300 pair of shoes was because we had recently sold our house and had some extra money. This pair was our second pair. He states they are the most comfortable of shoes he has ever owned (they better be) and the brand brings him back to our dating days (awe). So if you have the means the splurge, do. And make sure to take them to Kenny to get them polished up and sealed, they will last that much longer, plus he's a good guy.
