This is a beautiful dress, but if you are truly petite, you might want to order something else. I am just under 5 ft tall and usually wear an 8 or 10 petite size. I ordered this dress in a medium petite. The length came about 1 inch above my ankles and my torso would have had to be at least 4 inches longer for the waist on the jacket to come anywhere near my natural waist. I'm guessing this would look stunning on someone 5'5" or 5'6".

I returned the size small since it was a bit snug in the bust. I ordered the medium & the courteous & very helpful staff at my local Nordstrom will make some adjustments for me which will be covered with my Nordstrom card! The Parisian violet is a beautiful color. The jacket on this dress is especially beautiful. I love the modest neckline on this dress?I am 5'7"- 120#, a little busty for my weight. This dress will be beautiful for me to wear as a bride this fall. I am a widow of 4 years & I am marrying a man who also lost his wife to cancer as I lost my beloved husband to cancer. My 2nd husband to be also purchased a grey suit at Nordstrom which will pair beautifully with this dress. Thankyou to Nordstrom for all of your wonderful online & in-person staff.

Beautiful dress and great fit. Good customer service from Nordstrom, as always. Only quibble I have is the color is slightly different than expected and visible in the picture- more sandy than ash in the sense that there is no hint of blue tones in the color.
