I love Toms, but I really had to reconsider them them again after this pair started getting tears after only 3 wears. The tears appeared around the heel and also near where the start of your toes are, in the crease. I was so sad! I loved these shoes.

Proscomfortable, versatile, easy care
These shoes are made of burlap, therefore making them incredibly susceptible to breaks and tears. I read review after review about these shoes and every single one of them complained of the 'short life span' of these shoes due to the nature of the fabric. BUY SHOE CARE STUFF. I got flexible fabric adhesive and heavy duty fabric protectant spray, both very inexpensive, and coated the heel and toe of the shoe with the adhesive (these are the most common places for tears in TOMS) and then put two coats of the spray on after the adhesive dried. I live in the northwest, so it's important to have your shoes protected from water (especially TOMS) and I haven't had a single issue with this pair.
Also, because of the fabric, these TOMS won't stretch the way the canvas ones do so don't buy them a half size smaller or whatever. And, typical of TOMS, all their shoes run narrow. But these shoes are comfortable and they're adorable and match everything. I'm a barista and just couldn't turn down a pair of burlap shoes.
I highly recommend these shoes if you are willing to put love into them and take care of them (which is inexpensive, minimal, and totally worthwhile), otherwise don't waste your money.
