I bought this boot in black and it arrived as pictured. I bought this in a half size up in order to accodomate socks for fall/winter. It fit TTS though with a slightly narrower foot bed, which I don't think will be a problem for the average person, just for those that have wide feet.
I haven't worn this outside yet, just around the house to test it out,but it feels pretty comfortable. On some boots I have an issue with my ankle rubbing and I didn't experience that issue with these, so that's a plus. Laces allow you to get a customized fit, especially around the ankles.
It laces up but has a zipper on the size to make it easy to take on/off without touching your laces. It looks cute on.

I love combat boots. These are great, they're comfortable and super stylish. Steve Madden does a great job of making shoes that are true to size. However you decide to wear them you'll love them!

Prospoorconstruction, not genuine lea
Between my daughter and myself, we have 10 pairs of these in various colors. BUT, the black leather is her favorite and she has had maybe 6 pairs since they come out. (she wears them everyday and wears them down completely!) BUT< what we have noticed in the various colors and Black in particular, They are no longer "GENUINE LEATHER" as they used to be, but getting more "synthetic" plastically/faux FEEL. They just don't wear the same! Had the exchange/return the last 2 pairs. as they either came w different shoelaces (cheaper) or "FELT" stiff and uncomfortable. OR the Black color was "off" somewhat...looking odd. PLEASE....Steve Madden, GET BACK TO BASICS and make the SAME QUALITY Boot you once made! (we also noticed, a HEIGHT difference, in the SAME size boot, VARIES GREATLY! Very odd! Disappointed in the BOOT & Steven Madden, but LOVE and soon Happy w Nordstrom and they exchange/and return policy! GREAT Customer service as always!!! Thank you! ***The REASON WHY we like this boot? Is runs true to size, and we both have a narrow foot, and they feet our feet PERFECTLY!! I LOVE that perfect narrow fit! **** So, I MISS that they are no longer the same Great QUALITY SOFT GENUINE LEATHER BOOT!**

Love these super comfy & cute boots but when they arrived (in the stone color) they were blantely two different colored shoes. They aren't carried in the Nordstrom store near me so I have to re-order online and return (a hassle but worth it). I am usually a 6 1/2-7 and ordered the size 7 based on reviews & wantied to be able to wear thicker socks in the winter and the 7 is perfect for that. Don't hesitate to purchase but inspect your boots upon arrival!
