Great minimalist sneaker

I hate bulky tennis shoes so I'm so happy to have another pair of Merrell's. If you're used to/prefer wearing flats like I do, this is a pretty decent shoe if you want a sneaker. It's certainly not bulky, feels quite springy, and is cute. I had a pair of Merrell walking shoes several years ago that I loved, and given their quality, I have no doubt this pair of running shoes will stand up to everyday use if I wear them casually. Note if you're planning on using them for running, you might need to adjust your form. It's pretty nice to feel the road beneath your feet though.
Toe area fits large but I haven't noticed other than when I put them on/wear them casually. It's not a big deal, and much much better than having your toes smushed in a pair of flats. My pair is in black with silver stripes, and I'm pretty happy with them.

A little wide for me.
PostedApril 12, 2011
My sister runs in these shoes (she worked up to it) and likes them and let me know that they may be too wide for my feet. She was right. Her feet are a little wider than average, and mine are definitely more narrow than average. They have surprisingly good arch support, and appear to be very well made, but they're just a little too wide for me to keep. I usually wear a 7, but my left foot is actually more like a 7.5, so sometimes I get 7.5's, depending. For this, I would get a 7.5. So I'd suggest your normal size or half a size bigger.

Proslightweight and
ConsMedium width
I normally wear a 7, and since my husband got the men's pair and it ran true to size, I tried the same for the women's shoe. Unfortunately, it runs like all Merrels': a little small. I use these for camp shoes and secondary shoes in my pack to lighten the load, so a 1/2 size up after hiking 20 miles is needed since the foot has swelled. Totally comfortable, but go up a size if you need them after long excursions.
