The espresso color of this pencil seems to have a red tinge which is not attractive. Three stars is because of the color. I'm going back to the black color. In black this pencil is four stars. Glides on smoothly. It would be five stars except it doesn't hold a point and needs to be constantly sharpened.
My favorite eye pencil. I've tried many top brands over the yrs; this one suits my needs the best. It's super pigmented and soft, which I need for an older eyelid. I apply it to a primed lid along lash line over a light color base shade. I then set it with an accent powder eyeshadow along the lash line. It smudges into the eye shadow beautifully if you work it in within a minute or two. After that, it is set and doesn't fade much over the next 8 hrs or more. This item is not good for lining the interior waterline because of its softness. It will disintegrate. Just work it into the base of the lashes and it looks the same as a standard tight line. This does take a bit more time, but is worth it.
