I have purchased approximately 8 pairs of AEs over the past 15 years, so I am pleased with the AE brand and will purchse another pair, actually online in the next day or so. Re: The Lasalle: I am returning my pair, to have repaired, having purchased them approximately4 to 5 months ago. Actually I was surprised to see that 1/2 of my heel had fallen off, without any knowledge of when it happened. I have never written a review, but I wanted to see if this was something anyone else has dealt with.

Great shoes after breaking in

My LaSalles were my first pair of AE shoes and they did not disappoint! The first three or four times I wore them, my toes rubbed against the upper and my feet were hurting by the end of the day, but that is to be expected with high-quality leather shoes. After breaking them in, they are quite comfortable.
The look is also fantastic! I have the chili burnished color and they are very versatile -- dressy enough to wear with a suit but casual enough that they look great with khakis or jeans as well. I normally don't go for the look of a split-toe, but I really like the stitching detail on these.
So far quality is also what I expected from AE, but I've only had them for about five months, so I guess it's too early to tell.
Overall, a great purchase that I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

LaSalle's a Great Split Toe Shoe

I love my Chile LaSalle shoes. They are a nice break from black dress shoes. They can be worn with a suite as well as khakis for a more casual look. They take nice shine when polished. I like to use a clear sole dressing to keep the natural leather color on the sides of the soles.
