I worried about trying Clinique's clarifying lotions after the company discontinued its mild formulation, because I thought they would be too strong and cause my rosacea to flare. But No. 2 (not No. 1 as may be shown with this review) works well without stripping the skin. I follow it in the morning with moisturizer and at night with Clinique's Turnaround Revitalizing Lotion to great effect.
In my 60s now, I thought that Clarifying Lotion 2 was perhaps a bit too harsh for my skin so I decided to try CL 1 - big mistake. My skin did not feel clean nor did it look clear after using this...it actually looked somewhat "muddy" - this just wasn't effective. I will go back to CL 2...perhaps with a damp cotton pad to mitigate the harshness (which, after all, seems to have a purpose since I have good skin thanks to Clinique~).
Love this product, use it with the facial cleanser and lotion (I just tend to run out of this and not the other two I get in the 3 pack). I bought this size because it is the same size I had prior with my pump but the pump DOES NOT fit. Just a heads up to those looking to replace their's.
