Great boots
PostedNovember 22, 2016
I love these boots. The only problem I have with these boots is the break in period, it can be very painful.

8890 v 1907 on width...

So these 8890's Charcoal Rough and Toughs just arrived. They are gorgeous as expected. I have and wear daily a similar boot, 1907 Copper Rough and Tough and I love them. I ordered 11D (same as my 1907s) and the length is as expected HOWEVER, the width is fully .25" to .5" narrower than my 1907s. Is this normal anyone else experiencing this? Pic attached. Thanks in advance.

Best footwear in the world
PostedMarch 29, 2016
This is my 5th pair of Red Wings, I also own 2 pairs of the Iron Rangers and 2 pairs of the Beckman. The quality and craftsmanship that goes into all of your products are second to none. Being around horses all day, I am hard on my boots and they are exposed to a number of different environments. Regular cleaning and oiling ensures that the boots alway look great. It is nice to see in a world full of low quality garbage there are still companies like Red Wing who insist on doing things the right way.

A classic...
PostedDecember 5, 2014
A classic means this is an old design... and needs an update. I get it that people swear by it and the quality is good by old standards but we don't build Model-T's anymore and it's the same with shoes.
In 2014 I can buy a pair of shoes with good quality leather that don't need a break in. Why do I need to torture my feet for 2 weeks before they get molded to my feet like my Grandfather had to do? I say get with the program and use high quality leather that doesn't need this break in period or design a better shoe. I've also found the Classic Moc toe style to be best suited for narrow feet.
I know this review is going to get downvoted to Kingdom Come as "Unhelpful" even though it's just my personal view, I guess it's unhelpful if it doesn't conform to your viewpoint, right? My challenge is for Redwing to build a better Classic Moc and for people to understand you don't need to torture your feet for 2 weeks to get a good workboot.
