painful sandal - ruined vacation

Chalk this up to a 'lesson learned'. I walked around the house in these sandals a little before the vacation but apparently not enough....after wearing these for about an hour off and on at the beach and around the pool i incurred deep, painful gashes on top of my feet. Inspecting underneath the leather strap i noted the stitching and folds in the leather were not even/flush and thus, digging into the top of my feet. Subsequent days of pain followed with any of my shoes until i finally found a pair of cheap, rubber, very thin strapped flip flops that didn't impinge on the wounded area. Whoever designed these sandals is a sadist. Obviously after wearing them outside - i can't return them....and wouldn't return them anyway as I wouldn't want anyone else having the same problem i did.

I'd been looking forever for flip-flops that were both comfortable and cute. These fit the bill! I saw someone wearing them and thought they looked so cute with the jeans she was wearing, so I asked her about the brand and then promptly ordered them. These are a step up, looks-wise, from the typical foam flip-flop with nylon straps. I also like the neutral color that goes with everything.
The foam is super comfortable and squishy, and I LOVE the leather footbed. It feels so great against the bottom of the foot.
As other reviewers have mentioned, these seem to run a bit big. Per the advice from other reviewers, I decided to err on the small side when ordering. I wear an 8.5 shoe, and I ordered the Large, and they fit PERFECTLY.
I'm also glad people warned that these feel stiff and tight at first (the woman I saw wearing them said the same thing), because mine certainly do. If I hadn't read reviews and talked to that person, I might have returned them, but knowing they take a little while to break in, I'm keeping them. I am gradually feeling them getting more comfortable each time I wear them.

very comfortable and love how the light sierra brown blends with my skin tone. I can wear these with anything, and the neutral color helps them blend rather than be the first thing people notice when I walk.

I'm told these are super-comfy if you can get through the break-in period, but I had trouble finding a size that works for me. Usually a true size 9, the XL was huge and the L was small. Unfortunately I will be returning these.
