Prosextremely drying, left white cast
Based on all of the rave reviews, I was sure that I had purchased the ultimate sunscreen. My skin is very sensitive, and I liked the chemical-free aspects of this product.
I applied this about 10 minutes before leaving the house. The formula is very, very thin and watery. The first thing I didn't like was that it left a white cast. I've seen heavier casts from other sunblocks, but the product claims to let skin breathe "without leaving white traces." But it did.
I wish I could tell you how this sunscreen lasted throughout the day, but I didn't even make it out of the house with it on. Only a few minutes after applying, my skin felt dry and tight and very uncomfortable, as if I had applied rubbing alcohol or some other very drying astringent. It felt terrible, and I had to get it off my skin immediately. My pet peeve with sunscreens is that they are all drying to some extent, but this was really severe.
I'm glad it works for some people, but it didn't work for me. I will be returning this product immediately.
This is the the sunscreen I've been searching for. I've tried two other sunscreens that were just OK - the Lancôme "Bienfait UV Super Fluid Facial Sunscreen SPF 50+" which I found to be a bit greasy, and the La Roche Posay "Anthelios 60 Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid". These two sunscreens did not work well under makeup but are fine otherwise.
This Clarins sunscreen works really well under makeup. It is not greasy and absorbs well (unlike some other mineral sunscreens). I use this over my daily moisturizer and let it set about 10 minutes before applying makeup. This product is not moisturizing, so do not skip your daily moisturizer.
No white streaks. No grease. Looks great under makeup.

I searched high and low for the perfect sunscreen. Shiseido had raves but the spf 50 one I tried had a slight white cast and felt like I was wearing something so I found myself hardly using it. Many products leave a oily feel or make me look shiny. This product absorbs fast and doesn't feel like I am wearing anything. It is weightless! Also, it doesn't break me out or leave a white cast all over my face. It's pricey but the comfort was worth it! Only thing that keeps me from giving a 5/5 rating is that it did not prevent additional freckles for me.
I've used this product since it hit the market; NOTHING compares to it!! Great under makeup, does make skin oily/shiny/greasy and it WORKS. What more can I say other than BUY IT!!!?
