[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first you may think it's pointless to put all this work into shaving. But trust me when you do it once you will want to do it over and over again. The pre-oil makes for shaving a lot easier. Leaving no razor burn. The shaving cream with the brush makes shaving a lot closer. And the after shave smells very good and doesn't burn. I do recommend using a good blade and not just a disposable like I did.

Shaving is now a relaxing experience!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to shave everyday. I keep a partial beard, but in order to look professional, I need to make sure I have a clean and defined beard. Shaving became a chore for me and something that I did not enjoy. All of that changed with The Art of Shaving. I chose the Sandalwood aroma and thought I would give it a shot. Anything could be better than the gels and lotions I had used in the past. After my first shave, I was blown away. I ran around the house like a giddy school girl. I wanted to show my wife how I looked and how great I felt. The products help to create a relaxing experience and I look forward to shaving. The pre shaved lotion helps prevent nicks and cuts, but the best part is using the shaving cream and the badger hair brush. Wow. No burn and the after shave lotion leaves me smelling great and feeling refreshed. This kit was worth every penny. Get it for yourself or buy it as a gift.

Reviving The Art of Shaving

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been growing a beard on and off for approximately 5 years, I like to grow it to a good length, maybe 2-3 inches off my chin so it takes a good reason for me to want to remove my chin warmer.
I was given an Art of Shaving kit to test and test it I did. The equipment comes wrapped in a well designed cube which makes the set seem important. I feel like this set is perhaps designed for someone who already has a razor, but it would need to be a good one.
The standout item was the brush for me, I think that its what really sets this apart from a standard gift set of toiletries for men. I understand that the items within this kit are better quality BUT the real selling point and what I discussed most with friends was using the brush.
Sandalwood has a very rich history and it's a classic odor but I think that the choice to use it here is the correct one as this set presents a modern take on a classic requirement.
I think that if I were to give a small bit of feedback, it would be to include some beard oil for anyone who wasnt going fully clean shaven but wanted to style and maintain a beard. But thats me looking for trouble.

Wow! My first initial thoughts on The Art of Shaving Sandalwood Essential Oil full kit is that it's the Ultimate Gift set for any man. One look at what the full kit has to offer and it is instantly a product that becomes desirable.
The full kit comes equipped with four elements necessary for the perfect shave.
1. Pre Shave Oil (Scent: Sandalwood Essential Oil) 2. Shaving Cream (Scent: Sandalwood Essential Oil) 3. Shaving Brush with Real Badger Hair 4. After Shave Balm (Scent: Sandalwood Essential Oil) Alcohol Free
There are a few things you may want to consider before purchasing your own Art of Shaving kits.The first thing is you may want to invest in a good razor. The kit does not include one so prepare in advance and have your razor handy. Also, if you're going to do this right, consider having some other items handy like a cup for your shaving cream, a towel for your face and most importantly a stand to hold your badger brush and razor. These are items that any barbershop would have handy, but since you're buying a kit and doing it yourself (DIY), you may want to make sure you have all the tools you need to facilitate a great shaving experience and a way to store your shaving brush and razor with out ruining them afterwards.
The Sandalwood Essential Oil scent smells very woodsy and fresh. One of the things I like most about this scent is that I don't have to worry about wearing cologne afterwards. I hate shaving creams and lotions that loose their scents after leaving their containers because it leads to having to find a cologne to use afterwards. This kit solves for that problem and leaves a great "Manly" smell after your shave.
What about the packaging?
This kit comes securely packaged. I had a hard time trying to get everything out especially the brush. I didn't want to pull it out and risk loosening the brush hairs , so I used the back of a spoon to pry it out. I liked that it was secure in its package. The last thing I would want to happen is that I open the package and risk dropping and breaking something. So packaging is a plus.
What else came with your kit?
The Art of Shaving kit came with a booklet that provides users with step by step instructions on attaining the perfect shave. It was very informative. Also, if you're interested you get some details on becoming a member to The Brotherhood of Shaving. This includes exclusive offers, VIP invitations to events and new products and expert advice from Master Barbers.
What was using the products like?
Using the products in the kit was fun. I started off by using the pre shave oil and massaging it into my face and beard. My favorite part of the shaving experience was using the lathering brush. It only takes a small dab of shaving cream in the middle of the brush and lather away on top of the already applied oil. Next, I shaved using a regular razor... nothing fancy and finished it off with applying a few dabs of the after shave balm. After using the products in the kit, I absolutely felt like a million dollars. My face has never felt so smooth and my beard has a shine like never before. I would highly recommend this product to any man.
