Art of Shaving Not for me!

The packaging was nice and I was very excited about trying this product out. However it was not for me, the whole process was very frustrating and not enjoyable. It may be that I am not used to this type of shaving cream but it was very disappointing. Had to finish the job with my normal shaving cream.

The Art of Shaving Full Size Unscented Kit.

I received my kit from the Art of Shaving to test out. This kit comes with pre-shave oil,shaving brush, shaving cream, and an aftershave balm. When I first got it I was excited to try it out.
Upon reading the application guide that was provided, I wasn't sure about the pre-shave oil. Did I apply it before or after my face was wet? If before, wouldn't the water wash it off? If I applied it after would it work because oil and water don't mix? I wasn't sure, so I went to the website and I couldn't really find the answer. Since I have never had a professional shave before, I did what I thought was best... I got my face wet then applied the oil. The oil feels pretty thick (even though it wasn't) which I think is a good thing.
I applied the shaving cream with the brush... that was a different experience. The shave itself was good... Since I had used a new blade I couldn't really tell if it was better then a normal shave. Now normally I get a new blade every other shave as I have sensitive skin. If I don't use a new blade I get real bad razor burn on my neck. But I wanted to test this stuff out so I am now on my fourth shave on the original blade and the shave is still nice and smooth and I do not have any razor burn issues.
I would definitely recommend this shave kit for a nice close shave.

Amazing shave like none other !

I started off with an oil , that softens the beard prior to shaving , going ' ya like this is going to do a darn thing ' ... I lather it in and allready notice the softened facial hair. I pull out the badger brush and scoop up a nice dab of shaving cream thinking ' I don't know about this I'm gonna get cream all over '. It was the most amazing experience , the super soft brush hair makes it feel like there's something amazingly soft crossing over my fave. This is now one of my most favorite feelings and too my surprise it was very easy to control. I finished off with the after shave balm , leaving my shave fresher than ever , easier than ever to trim thanks to the oil , and Absolutly a pleasure to shave now. An amazing product. Right after that shave I was ' hooked for life ' !!!
This would make a great gift for any man , or one to paper yourself a bit guys - I promise it's worth the amazing feeling. That brush doesn't just look cool , it's elite and unique to use.
I think the kit is a nice idea too as each element added to create a perfect shave !

I have always wanted one of those old fashioned shave kits. This is the closest you could possibly get. I was impressed by the amount of stuff in the kit and really enjoyed the shave I ended up with.
