My first thought upon getting the kit was that it's an old fanishioned shaving kit! And it's too many steps, I just quick shave in the morning no before and after steps, no time for all that. It works good and I like that it doesn't have a scent! I am a no cologo scent kind of guy!

Learning the Art of Shaving !

With receiving the full kit of The Art of Shaving, I didn't know what to expect. I liked how it was packaged and coming with directions to give you the full experience. I liked how the cream went on my face and how the brush felt. It left me with a closer shave than normal. Usually within the night I could feel hairs but didn't with this.I have used it a few times so far and have liked the outcome. I would definitely spread the word to others. I normally don't use a after shave balm but I really liked that as well!

Art of Shaving Not for me!

The packaging was nice and I was very excited about trying this product out. However it was not for me, the whole process was very frustrating and not enjoyable. It may be that I am not used to this type of shaving cream but it was very disappointing. Had to finish the job with my normal shaving cream.

The Art of Shaving Full Size Unscented Kit.

I received my kit from the Art of Shaving to test out. This kit comes with pre-shave oil,shaving brush, shaving cream, and an aftershave balm. When I first got it I was excited to try it out.
Upon reading the application guide that was provided, I wasn't sure about the pre-shave oil. Did I apply it before or after my face was wet? If before, wouldn't the water wash it off? If I applied it after would it work because oil and water don't mix? I wasn't sure, so I went to the website and I couldn't really find the answer. Since I have never had a professional shave before, I did what I thought was best... I got my face wet then applied the oil. The oil feels pretty thick (even though it wasn't) which I think is a good thing.
I applied the shaving cream with the brush... that was a different experience. The shave itself was good... Since I had used a new blade I couldn't really tell if it was better then a normal shave. Now normally I get a new blade every other shave as I have sensitive skin. If I don't use a new blade I get real bad razor burn on my neck. But I wanted to test this stuff out so I am now on my fourth shave on the original blade and the shave is still nice and smooth and I do not have any razor burn issues.
I would definitely recommend this shave kit for a nice close shave.
