Tried a sample of the shaving cream years ago, was excited to try the whole system.

I had tried the shaving cream as a sample years ago that my wife got while on a visit to Dallas. I was excited to be invited to try the Full Size Unscented Kit.. I am glad I did try it. This would be a fantastic gift for Fathers Day, which is right around the corner. The Unscented Kit is nice, as I have sensitive skin.

Awesome Shave Kit

I'll be the first to admit, I hate to shave. It's never really been fun or easy for me. My beard is thick. Really, really thick. Both in the amount of hair and in the specific hairs themselves. In addition to being really thick, the hairs seem to grow in all different directions. I've heard people say that they shave either against the grain or with it, but for me neither is really a possibility. They're just sprouting up every which way. Also, my wife swears that she sees more than one hair coming from each hole. See, I told you: really, really thick! So I get The Art of Shaving Full Size Unscented Kit to try out. It looked really nice but I still wasn't convinced that it was going to really address my shaving issues. But what the heck, it couldn't be worse than any other products I've tried, so I gave it a shot. I started with the Unscented Pre-Shave Oil. It really seemed to soften the hair and I could see a difference. Next was the Unscented Shave Cream. Now this is not your average shaving cream from the local drugstore. This is much different. It just feels thicker and richer I guess. I always assumed that shave creams were basically the same, just meant to lubricate the blade. This was more than that though. It worked with the Unscented Pre-Shave Oil and helped to make my unruly facial hair easier to get through. The best part? The Pure Badger Brush. I mean really, how cool is that? It's like something out of an old black and white movie set in a barber shop. It's like you're getting and old fashioned professional shave in your bathroom. Also, and more practically speaking, I think that using the brush for shave cream application, rather than your hands cuts down on the amount of shave cream you're using and makes it last longer. It also seems to really get the shave cream in between all the coarse beard hairs. The last step is the After-Shave Balm. As a man, I have to say I've only seem my wife use anything that's called a "balm". It just seemed kind of feminine to me. But I gave it a try anyway. Wow, much better than any after shave product I've ever used. I guess balm means soothing, because this stuff made my face feel awesome. Now normally about this time, I'm starting to deal with the pain that comes with shaving my face. The ingrown hairs will start to irritate my face, and I'm reminded once again why I hate to shave. But this time was different. The usual irritation wasn't happening. This kit is like a shaving revelation for me. I have never in all my life been happy after shaving. I have never been remotely comfortable after shaving. Until now. This kit is pretty amazing and I would definitely recommend it to anyone, especially anyone who has a serious amount of facial hair like I do. Awesome, it's just awesome.

The Art of Shaving, closest and most comfortable Shave of my life!

Having tried several different shaving creams and techniques to get the perfect shave, I thought I would never find the perfect product. I received the Unscented Shave Kit from the people at The Art of Shaving to try. I have to say after receiving i was unsure where to start, after reviewing the website and getting a better grasp on the steps to take to get the best results, I had a 3 day beard and I was ready. After applying the Pre-Shave Oil and shaving cream with the badger hair brush, it could feel the hair on the neck and face seem to lift up and away from my skin. From the first stroke until my last, my experience was amazing, very close shave and very little if not zero irritation after applying the After-Shave Balm. I look forward to shaving again, I am no longer looking at shaving as a chore, as the name suggests it truly will become an art that I participate in daily. Because my partner can't seem to keep his paws off of mine, I know what I will be getting him for his birthday this next month, and I am 100% sure he will love it as much I as I do.

Dont have to be fancy to use this kit

I was a little intimidated by the fanciness of this kit, but also pretty excited. I am a construction worker so, pampering myself isnt top priority. I have no complaints what so ever about any of the items in the kit (loved the box by the way). The Pre shave oil felt amazing on my face after my shower. The Shaving cream and the brush to apply, I felt like I was at a barber shop but in my own bathroom and the after shave balm completed the process well. I suppose if I had to say something negative, it would be, I wish it came with a fancy razor. Using my Disposable razor with all this amazing product was a little disappointing. Ive never been disappointed with my razor before! Would be a great gift for any man!
