These socks are truly over the calf. They are not mid-calf. I chose Medium for my 8 1/2 show size and they fit fine. They almost feel like a compression sock. They are comfortable. They do not drop pieces of lint on the rug as I walk around in sock feet. They do a good job of keeping my feet dry and therefore warm in the winter. I would recommend these.
They're okay. Somehow, over a period of years Nordstrom doesn't really maintain consistency of fabrication and fit, though. Let's face it, Nordstrom really isn't about their branded products any more.
Over all the socks look good. My issue is with the sewn seam at the toe. The seam causes direct pressure to the toes. A woven seam would be smooth and not cause unwanted pressure to the toes.
