Bought these for my daughter in her usual size 10. The look and quality were great but the fit was too large.

Prosoddly sized
ConsMedium width
I love Dr. Martens and now own a number of pairs, having bought my first at Nordstrom a few years back. So, I'm used to the small variations in size between models and between men's and women's sizes. I took the advice to order up and bought a men's 7, ladies 9 instead of my usual 6 translating to an 8.
However, there is just something odd about the basic fit of this shoe, at least for my foot. It isn't so much the length--I think an 8 would have been too small there. Rather, the toe box is high and the shoes are so wide that I feel like I'm swimming in them even with heavy socks. If you have a wide foot, this fit could be heaven for you!
The color isn't quite what I expected either. It's very dark, more of a burgundy rather than a deep cherry red. It's not unattractive but I was looking for a purer red.
All in all, I would recommend that anyone interested in this shoe either order multiple sizes or try it on in the store. I'm returning mine, but will do so at the store to see if I can try on the smaller size. If that fits, I plan to redeploy to the snazzy black patent models. The hunt continues...

Dr. Martens now Made in China
PostedApril 3, 2013
Prosnot comfortable
ConsMedium width
I have five other pairs of Dr. Martens that I have worn for the past 18 years. I have always loved Dr. Martens. These shoes that I ordered are a little too big. They are not as comfortable as my other Dr. Martens. These are Made in China not in England like they used to be. I am very dissatisfied with these shoes. The leather is not as thick as other Dr. Martens.

Sizing Off!

Proscool!, leather stiff.
ConsMedium width
I have docs made in the U.K. and I wear a size 6 U.K., but the size 8 American equivalent to this particular shoe is different, perhaps because it is made in China-not the U.K. I had to order 3 different sizes! And ended up with the American size 7-so be prepared for size issues. Also, the stitching is black not the yellow usually associated with docs. Nordstrom Customer Service was great, and sent different sizes and pre-paid return labels.
