I'm sure these boots are built to last and they are nice looking, but they do run big and they are just too tough to break in.

American Made Quality

Proscraftsmanship, quality, american pride
These boots will become your all-time favorite right at the two week mark. GIVE THEM TIME. Real leather. Leather that will last darn near forever if you take care of them (I highly recommend Obenaufs). Thick leather, quality soles, heavy duty stitching. They really do harken back to an earlier time when things were made right and made to last. They have an old school look to them and they are worth every red cent. Do not hesitate to buy them but when you do go down a half size. I'm all of size 11 on every pair of shoes/boots I own but these were too big at 11. When I exchanged them for a 10.5 they fit like a glove. There is no other boot like these I promise you that. This is my second pair and I am saving up for a third so I can rotate them to give them even longer life as well as more color options.

Best boot in this price range

Prosworkwear, quality, durable
Red Wing makes the highest quality boots in this price range. Let's start there.
I have a pair of Wolverine 1ks, Alden Indys and now Iron Rangers. The IRs are better than the Wolverines and close enough to the Indys.
The captoe is perfect and the toe, which looks bulbous in pictures, looks great in person.
Highly satisfied. Size half down from brannock if you are ordering them online.

Outstanding Item

Prosversatile, rugged
Plainly put, these boots are outstanding. I have owned boots ranging from combat to working, and these are amongst the best I've owned. Durable, no-nonsense, and versatile boots that you can wear in work and casual settings with ease.
Construction-wise, these boots are made of tough, durable leather which will take time to break in properly and conform to your feet and your gait (always a sign of a good leather product). The cap toe provides an extra layer of protection for toes when used on the work site and the rubber/cork sole provides strong grip on dirt, gravel, and stone. I don't necessarily recommend wearing these in snow or on ice without some kind of grip mechanism like Yaktrax because the rubber/cork sole doesn't provide much traction on slippery surfaces.
The aesthetic of these boots is also second to none. You don't dress these up. That said, you can wear these in casual settings and they'll fit right in. Going to take the dog to the park? Yes! Going to your office on casual Friday with a flannel and jeans? Yes! Going out to a nice dinner with your S/O? No!
Lastly, fit. These boots fit ever so slightly wide, but not wide enough for me to mark them as large on this site. In terms of length, that will be a personal decision but I wear a 9 in dress shoes and went with an 8.5 for my Iron Rangers. I tried on an 8 and found my toes squished against the front of the boots.
