These shoes were purchased for my 87 year old mother on Mothers Day. I know they're for young people, but my mom loves them because they're easy to put on, they're light, and the have a great sole. She's the envy of her rest home.

Ordered these because the last pair I got from Nordstrom have lasted for years! They're well made and very comfortable. Easy to wash and care for also. You can't go wrong with these shoes.

Prossupportive, all-day comfort
ConsMedium width
I already have this Merrell MJ in 'Aluminum', and wore it all last summer and throughout a 2.5 week tour of Turkey last fall. I can wear it barefoot or with thin socks. Thanks to the adjustable velcro strap, I can tighten or loosen the fit as needed, esp. when my feet swell on hotter days. This style has the comfort and support of a sneaker, but looks stylish enough to wear with pants, capris, or a skirt. I like Merrell's Q-form insole for wearing this shoe barefoot (breathable, doesn't retain odor), but I have a somewhat high arch, and this shoe doesn't give me enough arch support. To fix that issue, I placed a 3/4-length arch support UNDERNEATH the Merrell insole and ta-da! I can wear them for 10-12 hrs comfortably, whether standing at work or walking over uneven ground at Ephesus and Troy. I loved my 'Aluminum'-color ones so much I decided to get the darker 'Cocoa' color too.
NOTE: All Merrells run a half-size 'small' in my estimation; I normally wear a 7.5 in shoes I wear barefooted in the summertime, but all my 'summer' Merrell shoes are a size 8 (and a size 8.5 for winter shoes when I wear socks).

I had to return them. I wore them for less than 2 hours, and they made a bloody blister on the heal of my foot. I've owned at least 8 pair of Merrills and never had a problem. This has a support in the back that just kept rubbing against my foot. Very uncomfortable. I'm a huge Nordstrom fan, but I have to say that when I returned them the sales lady never offered to show me anything else even after I explained that I needed walking shoes for a trip I was leaving on and really needed to find something appropriate and fast!!! Needless to say I was disappointed. Fortunately I found something at another department store.
