Battling the cold in style
PostedAugust 3, 2014
I bought these boots because I do a lot of working outside in NE Ohio in the winter and I needed something that was both warm and waterproof. After wearing these boots for a couple of weeks while the "polar vortex" came through, I can say that these boots do both superbly. We've had temperatures dip down below zero and during that time, my feet remained toasty warm and dry the entire time. My feet always remained completely warm and comfortable, even while standing around in the cold for several hours.
To warn anyone who might be looking at these boots, the ankle of the boots are fairly rigid, but this is to provide excellent ankle support for walking through uneven terrain. I am also the sort of person who runs around barefoot in the summer, so I was initially awkward with how unflexible the sole of the boot was, but this again was to provide great traction and is not in any way a complaint. The overall construction of this boot is excellent and perfect for walking around in any type of terrain.
There have been reviews that these boots run small, and it's a bit of a misleading comment. The length of the boots run true to size, I wear a size 5.5 and it was a perfect fit. HOWEVER, just as with any shoe, they need to be broken in. The insulation inside the boot can make it feel tight and small, but I just loosely laced the boots at the foot and wore light socks until they were broken in, and now they are perfect and I can lace them as securely as I need. If you have a wide foot, definitely go a half size up, otherwise they are true to size.
Overall these are excellent boots, I love wearing them in this winter weather right now and I highly recommend them to anyone!

McMurdo II Boot

The boots fit my son perfectly! He had to go up 2 sizes. Fortunately it runs very narrow. There not to heavy for his feet. We live in Florida, so he will have to wear through the winter away in College to see their performance.

Perfect snow boots for men or women!
PostedFebruary 20, 2014
Proswarm, comfortable, sturdy
So in the middle of a really rough, snowy winter I decided to finally give up my uggs (no traction in snow or ice) and get real snow boots with rubber soles and traction. I searched for a while and after reading the features and reviews figured I'd give these a shot. Let me start by saying these are by no means fashionable lol but definitely serve their purpose. Super strong weather proof boot, actually so strong that it grasps your ankle as if it were an ice skate. It does feel a bit awkward when you first put them on because they are pretty heavy and very strong but after a few minutes your feet get used to them. Since they are men's sizing I ordered 2 sizes down from my regular woman's size as suggested and they were perfect!
