Prosclassic, well-made, gentlemanly
ConsMedium width
What can I say? These are sharp shoes. The walnut color is gorgeous. They will last forever, so pony up and get the best. Make sure to try them on. They run narrow and a bit large (about 1/2 size big), but they come in widths so there's sure to be one that fits you. Just don't say I didn't warn you if you order online and they don't fit to your satisfaction.

Disappointed .... buyer beware!

The product description says:
"Vintage-style broguing details a handsomely crafted leather oxford with an antiqued double leather sole and McAfee heel."
I was looking forward to this shoe, but what I received was not the original Player shoes as described above. What I received was a "single oak" leather sole and the standard heel. I guess AE is no longer making the original version of this shoe for Nordstrom. If that is the case, the product description should be updated.
I have several pairs of AE shoes with double soles, like the MacNeil and the Walton that I purchased from Nordstrom. I really like the comfort and durability of this specific shoe construction.I am disappointed that the Player is not as advertised and will be sending this back to Nordstrom.

Prosversatile, classic

One of the best looking AE shoes in my opinion, a classic wingtip in their fantastic Walnut color. This shoe is on their #2 last which is described as "Elongated toe with a slightly higher instep. Very similar to the 108 last." The one gripe I have about these shoes is that I feel the heel area is a bit too narrow for my foot. Heel slip was a bit of an issue at first, but has gotten much better with break in and the use of tongue pads for a more secure fit. The shoes have become much more comfortable after a short break in period and have become one of my favorite pairs to wear. They are extremely versatile and can be worn with a variety of clothing, allowing you to dress them up or down. I would definitely recommend trying them on first unless you are familiar with AE sizing and particularly this last.
