I purchase my first pair of AE after deciding that another Alden pair would be financially stupid. So, I found this oxford an excellent, and far better priced alternative. I wear a Barrie last on Alden, but I went true-to-size with this oxford and the fit is great; toe box feels good and the heel is snug. Give them a few weeks of 2, 3x a week wear and they'll break-in nicely.

I bought a pair of these shoes, they look good but are very hard on feet, thus there is discomfort whenever I wear them. Most of the other shoes I have bought (known brands), they all have padded insoles, which are comfortable from day one. I spoke to a lady at Allen Edmonds customer service but was told that this shoe does not have padded insole since over a period of time the leather will have an imprint of my feet and thus become comfortable, which I don't buy.
Will take these shoes back and see if I can get a refund.

This IS a quality shoe. I would recommend anyone wanting a exceptional shoe, choose Allen Edmonds! This one is made in the U.S.A.
