Prospractical, well constructed, value for cost
This is a beautifully constructed garment and definitely smoothed my shape. As other reviewers have mentioned - take note that the back comes up very high and the straps are rather wide set. It worked like a charm on my dress that was long sleeved but on sleeveless dress, straps were visible. I would definitely recommend this to women who want something to suck them in and smooth them out. It was very comfortable and was easy to walk in.

Proscomfortable, flattering, effective
Years ago I gave up on "shape wear": not worth the discomfort & annoying "roll up"
But after trying innumerable combinations of tank & briefs, and all sorts of slips and one-piece shareware, I finally landed on the TC "Torsette" shaping slip. NOTE: Only shaping (wear your own bra) slips (like this style) give you a clean line from torso to thigh, do not roll up, and prevent the "squished breast" look.
Moreover, the styling of the TC Torsette gives me a nice side-compression/lift around the breast area, which adds to the "slimming" look.
Best of all, the TC Torsette is very comfortable.
It goes rather high in back but I don't think you would get the same "smooth" look if it were cut any lower.
Finally, a nice alternative is the DKNY shaper which is similar to the TC but has spaghetti straps and a lower back. I have both because the DKNY does not have the lovely side-compression mentioned above.
PS: I'm somewhere between a Size 6-8 and S-M. I easily fit the TC small. The TC medium bunched up at the waist -- it would be better for women with longer torsos.

Great shaping

Since I had a hard time finding a shaper with a built in bra that fit on top and through the slip, this was perfect for me since I could wear my own bra. It smooths all the lumps and bumps to give you a seamless fit and doesn't ride up because of the gripper strips. I would normally wear an XL, but went up one size so it still smoothed everything but I could still move comfortably.

I wasn't looking forward to finding the right shapewear to go with a fitted dress. At first glance this looks strange with the spandex stopping under the bra and long straps that go up over the shoulders. It went on easily (I probably bought it a little on the large side), and when I took a look was pleasantly surprised. It fit well, smoothed me out, and was quite comfortable. It also doesn't seem to ride up around the bottom, and it keeps my strapless bra securely in place.
As other reviewers have said, it does go up on the back, so will not work with a low-back dress.
I'm quite pleased with this, and will probably wear it with many more things than I thought I would. This is my second piece of TC shapewear and I like it far better than Spanx.
