I have the suede version of this Paul Chukka in a tan color that Nordstrom doesn't carry any longer (similar to the Winter Chukka they have now but with the leather/rubber soul and stylish stacked leather heel) and I love them! It really is the best Chukka ever. I get compliments on them all the time and when I saw this version/color a few months ago, it was love at first sight...then I was crushed to learn that they weren't getting any more and were down to the random odd sizes. So glad they brought it back! Thanks guys! Love the red laces and sole...good reason to kick my feet up. I just ordered two pair. Can't wait.
*Note: I've read about this problem elsewhere with the Paul Chukka but it's worth mentioning that the tan pair I have developed an odd squeak after only wearing them two days. It was only in the left one and the shoe itself was squeaking along the flex point near the ball of my foot...it wasn't the surface I was walking on or any residue on the bottom. Apparently this has happened to other folks too but seeing how they stopped making it and now brought it back, perhaps they fixed any quality control problems. Kudos to Nordstrom and Cole Haan though...Nordstrom was prepared to give my money back or give me a new pair (sadly I literally got the last pair they had in the country so that wasn't possible) and then Cole Haan stepped up and said they'd fix it for free using their rebuilding services. Awesome! That's another killer selling point about these boots. For a nominal cost, Cole Haan will rebuild them for you when the soles wear out and get you back in action.

Great chukka boots. Looked at many other brands, but Cole Haan had the best looking for the price. Nice sole, very comfortable from day 1, and I can't tell you how many people loved the red laces on these. No, I don't work for Cole Haan. But I own a number of their shoes, and their narrow, slicker style appeals to me much more.

It was a tough choice between the black & brown but i decided to get a black pair since i have a pair of brown john varvatos chukkas. What really caught my eye was the red sole & surprisingly enough a pair of red laces came with the shoes as well.
