I'm usually a 10 in gowns, but this was a little narrow through the rib age, so I would get the 12. I'm 5'10" and it was long enough. I thought the image made iris look gray, but it is definitely dusty purple-- and I need a gray dress, so I will be returning this. But it is SOFT, comfortable, and super duper flattering. Highly recommend.

I followed the advice of several people and did "size up" and it was worth it. My regular size 6 was too tight in the bosom area and the size 8 I ordered is perfect. This dress will be worn by me to my son's outdoor wedding and indoor reception at the Hyatt Regency in Tampa in the fall. The dress looks superb on and makes me feel both sleek and elegant AND womanly all at the same time, quite a lot for one dress to pull off! And yet it does. I am so very glad I found it and that IT found ME!

This is the dress I wore for my son's August wedding. It looks beautiful in pictures and was slimming. My biggest problem was it ran tight in the bodice and the zipper did not go up easily over the seams. The gathering in the back made the dress look interesting from the back. Merlot is actually more grape or eggplant than wine. It needed extra pressing after hemming. I made a jacket to cover my cleavage for church because it was cut rather low. I received many compliments that I looked thin an lovely in the dress.
