Great Leather Casual Shoe

I was looking for a pair of casual shoes that were a step up from the sneakers that I normally wear so I stopped by the Nordstrom Flagship Store. It was my second pair of Allen Edmonds and so I knew what to expect as I would be breaking them in for the first month or so of wearing them on rotation (not every day, but every three days). Breaking them in went smoothly and the blucher construction probably contributed to that. The soles will be a bit slick for the first few wearings (normal) and once the shoe's broken in, they're great for walking around.
I normally wear them with AG Protege SUD pants and they work really well also with dark jeans. The longest I've worn them is 10 hours and even then, there were no blisters as they had been broken it by that point.
I normally wear a 13D and these fit true to size.

Very smooth... good and bad

Like most leather soled shoes, if you are on carpet prepare to ice skate around the office for a few months before you get any traction. The shoe his very classic, very smooth but runs a bit big. Running shoes I wear 12, casual shoes, 11, dress shoes 10 (so this one runs true, I tried 10.5 and it was too big) and in Mephisto, 9.5. Overall a great shoe.

100% worth the price. Usually take a 9D, but discovered that the 8E was the right size to accommodate the width of a flat foot -- shoe is a bit roomy overall, but will insert a 3/4 insole to take that up. Shoe trees essential to maintain the smooth unwrinkled look of a plain toe. Great brand, great quality shoe.
