Very Attractive and comfortable casual shoe

I own Five pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes. I wear a 8.5 / M and the 4035 Natural Wax Infused leather McTavish is a true to fit for me. Like the others pairs I own, this shoe fit perfectly and required very little break in. The McTavish looks great with a nice pair of jeans or casual slacks. The workmanship is excellent.

Two finishes purchased, two completely different fits

I purchased this shoe in the Cognac, and the Grey- which I don't think the grey is made anymore- both in Size 12. The Grey fits perfectly -and could possibly be the best shoe I've ever purchased. Fitted, but not tight - cushioned, but supportive - and looks great with slacks, and denim - for casual or dressier application.
The Cognac - is a different story. The finish has worn and darkened - so the shoe looks like a kick-around pair, and even with regular conditioning, and kept with shoe trees, I only wear with jeans now (rarely when I wear them). Plus, for a Size 12 - this shoe has stretched so much, I trip when I wear them. They feel like an entire size too BIG - and I feel like I 'm wearing clown shoes.
I'm wondering if I can send in for recrafting and possibly get them tightened up to an 11.5?
Examine, and try on before you buy (if you can) - and you may want to size down 1/2 a size depending on the finish.

I want to comment that it is best to buy the Dublin Cognac version at a store to see them first hand. I bought mine online and I was surprised to see how dark the color is compared to the online photographs. I would say they are a dark chocolate color. Otherwise a great shoe.

Outstanding Shoe

Superb shoe that looks good with business or casual attire. I read all the reviews and ordered 1/2 size smaller than normal and they fit perfect. They were a little stiff for the first hour of wear, after that they felt like slippers. I have received numerous comments on how good they look. I liked them so much I bought a second pair.
