Really great, causal double wing tip

I've owned these shoes (in black) for about 4 months, and wear them several times per week. This is a very high quality, substantial and comfortable shoe that I highly recommend to anyone who likes the double wingtip style.
Many have commented that the shoe runs long. My perception is that it simply has a longer toe box than other AE models. When I sized down my toes were cramped, so I returned to the same size I typically buy in an American made shoe. They look a little big, but they fit great with good arch support.
I think the black is the best color in this model, because it has contrasting stitching and soles that, together, make it a little more snazzy than the other colors. I'd very much like to buy the cognac shoe in the same model, but it's too drab. So I have a recommendation to AE: Offer the cognac brown with very dark red, indigo, or perhaps dark olive green stitching.

Great Style Lines

The McTavish is simply the most wing tip ever. I wear these for work, college fairs, and nights on the town. If I sould wear em with shorts... The fit at first seemed too big but I the realized the break in adapted the shoe to my foot contour. The tongue insert available at the stores created a perfect ankle seal. The infused wax means a quick brush and I'm ready to go. If it weren't for the Jeffersons I'd probably be getting the brown pair next. There's always next year.

Comfortable and striking, but beware in the wet!

I own about a dozen AE dress shoes so obviously a fan, although only a couple of the broad lasts fit me well. These 'rough collection' shoes were a step out for me and I liked them immediately, with chinos or jeans, although the finish is a bit 'rough' for the price. Then I tried walking on wet pavement. The soles turned to soap and it was virtually impossible to walk in any normal way. Shop said it might be due to the soles being unfinished and therefore more porous. Hmm. These are fine shoes as long as it stays dry.

Versatile shoe with style

Completely satisfied with the 4035 Natural McTavish. The only shoes I've bought in recent memory where I've been stopped numerous times to be complemented etc. Strong recommend.
