Definitely runs at least a 1/2 size big so swapped them out from a 10 to a 9.5 which still feels a hair big. Definitely worth trying them on first or ordering two pairs and returning one in online. It's a heavy shoe but is a by product of the immaculate construction. Very cool looking shoe that's easy to dress up or down. Highly recommend them.
This is my second pair of AE Shoes and they do not disappoint. They fit like a glove the first time I put them on. With AE, I firmly believe you get what you pay for, and when I saw these 33% off at the Anniversary Sale, I had to satisfy my shoe lust with a pair of black Mickey T's. Unlike my other dressy pair of AE's these shoes go well with slacks, jeans, dress pants, and suits. The brown stitching is a fine subtle detail and invites you to wear them with either black or brown belt. About the only PITA will be polishing them and not darkening the brown stitching, but it will be worth the effort. With great shoe power comes great shoe responsibility! The soles are solid and may be replaced when worn out, unlike many other manufacturers. My feet still feel like a million bucks after stomping around on a concrete floor for half of the day. Do yourself a favor-if you have money to buy 3 pairs of dress shoes that may only last a couple of years each, invest in these babies instead! McTavish for President 2014-Hope!

The McTavish is a work of art and comfort. Like many other owners/reviewers have noted on the AE website, you can wear them with a suit or jeans. AE has created an instant classic. NOTE -- this show is built on the 5 Last (AE's longest and narrowest Last), so you will have to factor that in when ordering. I usually take a 9 1/2 or 10 singe E. In the McTavish, i had to go with an 8 1/2 EEE! I was very hesitant to order such a small size shoe, but it fits perfectly....

I have not had the shoe very long but the shoe is very comfortable and a very good fit. Goes well with jeans or slacks!
