Most uncomfortable AE shoes I have ever owned

I purchased this pair of shoes over 2 years ago because I liked the way they looked. I had hoped that over time they would break in and be more comfortable to wear, but this has not been the case. They cause pain with every step I take, so I do not wear them any more. It frustrates me to see such an expensive pair of shoes sitting in my closet, knowing I will not wear them again. I have owned may pairs of AE shoes over the last 20-25 years, and this is by far the most uncomfortable I have owned.

After reading several of the reviews on this shoe I was a bit scared to purchase them. I had been stalking them for quite some time before I went into the store and pulled the trigger. While they were certainly stiff in the beginning, I kind of anticipated that given the double sole. However after wearing them a few times they have broken in nicely. They are slowly becoming one of my favorite AE's as I have always had a thing for monk straps.
I'm not one to persuade people to purchase shoes that are uncomfortable or cause blisters and whatnot, but many of the AE shoes people complain about being uncomfortable I have not had problems with. I guess my feet are pretty standard. I wear a 10 D. If you like these shoes and can try them on definitely give them a try. They look fantastic casual or dressy. Very versatile. Love them.

Great shoes

This is my third pair of AE shoes and I wanted this to be more airport friendly. I love the double oak sole as well, although it does increase the amount of time to break in. They do make a bit of noise when walking but nothing terribly noticeable. I'd buy them again, next time in Shell.

My favorite AE shoe

This was my 5th of 6 AE shoes. Given some negative reviews, I held off writing one for some time so I could comment on long term comfort and wear. Well after about 18 months I have nothing but good things to report. The shoes were comfortable from the start and have become even more so with more wear. They have become my go-to shoes with a dark suit (have them in black) and they look equally great when out to dinner with dark slacks. Always wanted a monkstrap. Glad I got them.
