I purchased the on closeout. These are my favorite boots from AE. My are black, and they work with suits and other professional outfits. If they were available in narrow or extra narrow( B and A) I would buy them in other colors.

I guess they found two pairs of new old stock from the last run; 10’s in Brown and Black in 11e, my size. I was lucky enough to score the ones in Black. These are beautifully made, and as they are built on the 65 Last, they give no hint under suits or slacks that they are boots. They have the same profile below the cuff as park aves, strand, fifth ave, but the medallion puts them in between a strand and fifth ave in formality. I absolutely love these. They are stunning. Did take a couple wears to break in the boot collar(upper part of the boot), but the butyl sole is very comfortable, and the leather has broken in very well. I wish I could get these in Brown. Wish AE would make them again....and why not Navy? Much prefer these oxford style boots to open lacing so called dress boots. Dalton’s are not sticrlty suitable for suits, the closed lacing of these work exceptionally well with suits, sport coats and even dark jeans and Chinos. My 14th pair of AEs, while maybe not my absolute favorite, fun, surprising, whimsical, with a connection to the 1910’s/1920’s. Really applaud AE for the effort on these. They are exceptional. Have shown to a couple guys at work who are into fine clothes and fashion and they are jealous!
