The Jefferson series is my favorite Allen Edmond of all time.
PostedFebruary 23, 2012
I have owned 12 pair of Allen Edmond shoes. My first pair was the McAllister and throughout the years I added the Stratton, Stockbridge, Shelton, Bel Air, Park Avenue, Randolph, Del Ray, Norwich and Jefferson. Allen Edmonds quality and style are always at the highest level of quality. I receive compliments almost everyday about my shoes. Thank you for making such a fine product.

Quality at the next level!
PostedJanuary 10, 2012
Owning Allen Edmonds shoes has always been a rewarding experience. Just when you think that they have mastered shoe making, enter the Independence line. I choose the Jefferson in black asking myself if this line was worth the extra $120. It is, period. This shoe after only wearing twice, feels as soft and part of my foot as my 6 year old Hillcrests. The leather is exquisite and the quality of craftsmanship is what we all have come to expect from the Allen Edmonds brand. If you like the finest things in life, I would highly recommend the Independence line. You will not be disappointed.

Amazing construction, a tad frustrated on the finish
PostedDecember 18, 2011
This shoe is built to the standard that I have come to expect from Allen Edmonds, a pair of shoes that will last for many years. I do have to say that I am a little frustrated with the finish. I debated between the Player, MacCallister, Strand and the Jefferson. I decided on the Jefferson because I liked the additional character had through the burnishing. While it is a beautiful shoe the finish is not as consistent as I would like from the right to the left shoe, they look as if they were finished by two different people. Additionally the burnishing is wiped on in the areas that are flat and has not been worked into the edges leaving a lighter line around the edges of the toe cap. While I love the style, weight, and quality of the shoe, I do feel like for the price point the finish should be impeccable.
My local retailer had to order the shoe and I fear that if I had seen it in person I would have leaned a different direction with in the Allen Edmonds line.
Just one man's thoughts...

A Beautifully Crafted Shoe
PostedNovember 23, 2011
I special ordered this shoe in my size (10 1/2 B) in black and received them before going on a business trip to Vancouver, British Columia. The minute I opened the box, which I thought was wood, I was impressed. The shoe covers are of a heavy grey material. The shoes are beautifully made and have a thicker sole than my other AE shoes. The laces are thicker than those on my other AE shoes. The minute I slipped them on, I noticed how flexible the leather upper is. I wore them for an entire day with no discomfort. It was a shame to cover them up with my Mobster goloshes (which I also reviewed on this site) when I had to step out into the rain, slush and snow, but there was no way that I was going to let anything happen to them. I hope that this collection will continue to expand to include styles similar to the Park Avenue and Fifth Avenue.
