chocolate brown dalton boot to oxblood color

I have several pair of the Dalton boots.. the dark chocolate almost looks oxblood, or cordovan color. would polishing the boots with a cordovan color polish, gradually turn to that desired color over time???

Saved a life

So cracked up skiing in the Alps and cranked an ankle in grand style - spent first couple of months out of the walking cast going to the office in Wellco combat boots! Hardly spiffy. Then I found these - got a couple pair and they saved the day with just the right amount of ankle stability. Only thing that bugs me is little stones stuck in the stitching on the sole ( our city uses endless gravel on the roads and sidewalks which sticks around two months on either side of snow). So what about putting out a line of these with the black combination tap sole? Anyway, best shoes I've owned. Thank you folks for making quality in the days when the spreadsheet guys and marketing departments think they run everything!

Stitching Issues

I was so excited to see the Daltons offered in Chili Burnished Calf. I received my boots, but within less than six weeks, the stitching was coming undone on the vamp and the heel. I sent an email to customer service and they issued a return shipping label. I shipped the shoes and confirmed that they were delivered. A week later, I had heard nothing from AE, so I sent an email to customer service to check on the status since I hadn't heard anything a week since they received them. The response was curt and basically said the shoes were being repaired and they should be shipping out that day or the next day. I was frustrated that there was no communication and that AE didn't even give me any options on the resolution. I received the shoes a couple of days ago and though they were repaired, the repair job was poorly done. There were additional stitches added, but they skipped over several of the existing sewing holes and ended up looking worse than when I originally sent them in. These boots shouldn't have started having issues with the stitching so soon. I only wear them to work in an office environment and I was appalled by how quickly this issue showed up given the price of the boots. They are very nice looking, but buyer beware when it comes to quality of construction!
