This boot is amazing.
Perfect boot for a night out with Jeans or can be used as a dress shoe and worn with a suit to the office.
Very comfortable. Possible the most comfortable boot i own

This is my first pair of AE shoes. The fit and comfort was great out of the box, and I assume will only improve as the boots break in and the leather softens up.

This boot is very comfortable and striking in walnut finish. I received many compliments and they look great with jeans or a suit. The pull tabs are the weak point but not a deal breaker.

I'd wanted a pair of dress boots for quite a while, and finally pulled the trigger on these about three weeks ago. The AE salesman measured me and determined that I should take a 10.5D; I'd worn an 11 for years but agreed with him that 10.5 appeared to be the right measurement on the Brannock device. I tried on both the 10.5D and the 11D and I seemed to be moving around quite a bit in the 11, so I bought the 10.5.
When I put these on in the store, they were exceptionally comfortable, and fit me like a glove. I had a similar experience for the first couple of wearings, as well. Since that time, though, I have noticed that my toes feel a bit constricted, width-wise, in the toe-box. This seems less problematic if I lace the boots fairly tightly, so perhaps when they're laced a bit more loosely, this causes my foot to slide forward into the toe box area. It's not a major issue - I experience no pain, really, only mild discomfort, but be aware when you try these on that they may feel somewhat different depending on how tightly you lace them. I wish I'd had the opportunity to try on a 10.5E, but none were available.
On the "plus" side as far as comfort is concerned, the toe-box snugness aside, I can wear these all day quite comfortably. As they continue to break in, I anticipate that they will grow still more comfortable. Additionally, I occasionally suffer from both plantar fasciitis and sesamoiditis in my right foot, with a hairline fracture in one of my sesamoids, and when wearing these shoes, I have not experienced any pain from either problem.
I've had many compliments on these boots so far, and have worn them with jeans, khakis, cords and dress pants. My wife is very fond of them and compliments them every time I put them on. I just got some orange laces for them for a little bit of extra panache on casual days.
One minor complaint: these do seem to squeak and creak quite a bit when I walk. I've noticed reviews from others complaining of this and that they found the issue resolved with different laces, but I'm currently wearing a very different style of laces than the ones that came with the boots, yet the squeaking persists. In my very quiet office, I think people can tell when I'm coming down the hall!
