Based on the reviews by those who purchased this, I went ahead and decided that I too should have an expensive pair of boots. I have many shoes and boots but nothing as expensive as this one. Besides, am not sure if this pair can stand the rigors of my daily commute...on a motorcycle.
The packaging, the build quality and finish reeks great workmanship. It also looks tastefully pleasing to the eyes and goes well with my office attire. Breaking in this pair was a little hard but wearing them for 3 straight days helped the pair follow the contour of my feet.
On the road, I can't help having people stare at my bike and then my boots. I have quite a number of car drivers roll down their window at an intersection and give me a thumbs up. One even asked me what brand boots and where I got them. :)
The only complaint I could think of is that the ball section of the shoes is made of leather and is slippery when I put my foot down to steady the bike. The heel has a rubber sole so that provides traction. I just wished that the sole was all rubber to make this a great riding pair of boots.
I can't wait to give the Allen Edmund Dalton Wingtip Boot as a gift for Christmas! The distinguishing quality and features of the craftmansship to the rich walnut colour and detail has the ability to make any man feel distinguished, prominent and eminent! Classic, smart, statement boots! As my other half has tried these on several times, I have been amused by the way not only he has felt looking in the mirror but, I've also noticed so many other gentlemen sporting them - they ALL have that same type of confidence! I purchased them because they also run in wide enough sizes for him and quite frankly, I'm tired of watching him in basic business shoes! Loking very forward to his excitement and I will love every minute of watching him enjoy them with jeans, business attire etc. I will love seeing him polish up his entire look! I'll be right beside him enjoying with him what he has been trying on for a great deal of time!!!
These are great shoes. You really can't go wrong with AE. I wore them to my local cobbler to get my Too Boot NY Brady's reconditioned and he looked down at my shoes and said, "you'll always have those." And then went on to suggest, b/c of how they are made, they are easier to resole. That being said, they are stiff in the beginning. My Too Boots (I've had man pair over years) broke in much quicker. But as the AEs get broken in, they take on a whole new character. The only negative with these is b/c of the thickness of the sole (from the front), they can look a bit aggressive (i.e. they looked like boots). I am more of a person that likes my boots to look like shoes until I pull up my pant leg. Overall. You are not going to go wrong with these Daltons.

Beautiful boots, and very comfortable. They are nice enough to wear to work or as dress shoes, but also look great with jeans.
