When my AE boot arrvied it looked fine but after a closer look, I noticed that one heel was bigger then the other; the boots leather was not even; eye holes in the boot werent even and it laced up uneven. The boot was returned and I'm awaiting another pair. I hope the next boot I get is inspected and made better. I also wasted $15.00 on this ordeal.

Been looking at these for a long time. When I saw them on sale, couldn't resist. Will be 70 in Oct. so this will be my next to last dress shoe purchase ever. Now I'm waiting for the black ones to go on sale.

I purchased the AE Dalton boot during the Anniversary sale. I had been eyeing these or the Strands up for a long time and finally decided to pull the trigger on the Daltons as I already had a dress shoe similar to the Strands.
I have to say, I am more than impressed by the quality! The entire sole is thicker than I was expecting, but in a good way. Makes me feel like the sole will last a very long time. The leather on the boot is very high quality. As others have mentioned, it is a very rigid leather, but I believe that will break in over time. It also squeaks a little, but nothing too bad really and hardly noticeable.
The only complaint I have with these is that, while the size is perfect, the width on the left boot is pretty tight. I have to admit, I fitted myself with AE's printable shoe fit guide, but I purchased exactly what it recommended, which was a size 9D. The strange thing is, the right boot is perfect. But the left boot is very uncomfortable and rubs on my small toe. I didn't notice this at first so I'm hoping that after breaking these in, it will fit much better.
Overall, I would still highly recommend these as a purchase for anyone. They are a fantastic looking boot and the quality is hard to beat. This is a boot I hope to have for a very long time, and with AE's recrafting, I know that I will!

These boots are fantastic! For me they fit true to size, they were comfortable out of the box, and that is increasing everyday. I like many others wear them with jeans as well as suits.
