I was surprised by the quality control for this Allen Edmonds Dalton Boot. Each shoe had the eyelets misaligned by a substantial amount so that lacing was uneven and erratic. One heel also appeared to be slightly larger than the other heel. The leather weight was much lighter than similar shoes I bought 7-8 years ago for $100 less.

Quality control issues
PostedOctober 27, 2020
Dye job was way off large discolored spot on the toe box. Nordstrom’s returned no issue. Allen Edmonds quality has really fallen off. At $425 I’d expect them to be near perfect.
Allen Edmonds quality control is pretty pathetic for $400+ Boots. I had to go through two pairs in order to find a acceptable pair and even then the two pairs varied significantly between themselves. I understand they’re made and finished by hand but seams and soles should not vary so dramatically between pairs. I have been a customer for a long time but this will make me reconsider next time.
I got them in Walnut, they run true to size, I would rate them as dress shoes although I do wear them with jeans occasionally. I would recommend to buy the ones that come with dainite sole.
